Organized by the Science Communication Office (BİO), established under the coordination of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the science café event titled “Your Heart is Speaking – Are You Listening?” took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Kırklareli Millet Bahçesi. The ceremony was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Rengin Ak, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Eylem Özkaya Lassalle, Rector’s Advisor İskender Gümüş, General Secretary Ahmet Şimşek, academic and administrative staff, as well as members of the public.
Aimed at strengthening the interaction between science and society and presenting scientific knowledge in an accessible manner, the event shared striking insights about heart health. Topics ranged from the functioning of the heart and the effects of emotions on cardiac activity to stress management and healthy lifestyle recommendations.
The session was enriched by a presentation from Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Gençbay, an expert in the field, and included an interactive Q&A segment. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, gain valuable information, and raise their awareness about cardiovascular health.
At the conclusion of the event, a certificate of appreciation was presented to the Vice-Rector, and it was announced that similar science café gatherings will continue in the upcoming term.
