Organized by the Science Communication Office (BİO), established under the coordination of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the event titled “Beyond Rankings: Discover Your True Self” was held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Kırklareli Millet Bahçesi.
The event featured Dr. Ünzile Özge Kıcalı, faculty member of the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Science and Letters, as the keynote speaker. She addressed the psychological processes experienced by students during the university preference period of the Higher Education Examination (YKS).
The ceremony was attended by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Kadriye Eylem Özkaya Lassalle, Provincial Director of National Education Hilal Liliyar Özefsun, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. İskender Gümüş, as well as parents and students.
Discussions at the event focused on the psychological impact of the university selection period on young people, strategies for stress and anxiety management, and the importance of individual self-awareness. Emphasis was placed on encouraging students to consider not only scores and rankings but also their own interests, values, and talents when making their university choices.
