Within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2025 Aviation, Space, and Technology Festival held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, our university’s Science Communication Office took part in the “Science Cafe” event organized under the coordination of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Science Communication Office.
Representing our university, Head of the Science Communication Office Dr. Haluk Keskin and Faculty of Law member Assoc. Prof. Okay Durman attended the event. On the fifth day of the festival, September 21, 2025 (Sunday), Assoc. Prof. Okay Durman delivered a talk titled “Artificial Intelligence and Ethics: Should Decisions Be Made by Humans or Machines?” at the YÖK Science Communication Office booth.
The session explored the role of artificial intelligence within the context of law and ethics, examining the balance between human judgment and technological systems in decision-making processes, as well as the opportunities and ethical challenges posed by AI applications in the field of law.
The event, which attracted significant interest from visitors, concluded with a question-and-answer session.
