The program titled “Notice, Don’t Delay, Refer: Awareness in Healthy Aging,” organized by our University’s Science Communication Office within the scope of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Science Café events, was held on Monday, February 16, 2026, with the participation of Filiz Şenbaş Köse, spouse of the Commander of the 55th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, and our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Gençbay.
In the program, Özge Altıntaş Kadırhan, faculty member of the Department of Neurology at Kırklareli University Faculty of Medicine; Betül Çiftçi, faculty member of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine; and Şeyma Kalkuz, faculty member of the Institute of Health Sciences, took part as speakers.
During the presentations, topics such as the healthy aging process, the importance of early awareness in neurological diseases, the impact of physical activity on quality of life, and the necessity of directing individuals to the right health services at the right time were discussed. Participants were informed in light of scientific data on healthy aging, and the importance of community-based awareness activities was emphasized.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers following the question-and-answer session.
