Within the scope of Green Crescent Week (March 1–7), a Science Café event titled “Who Is in Control in the Digital World? Digital Addiction and Digital Life Skills” was organized by our University’s Science Communication Office and the Addiction Prevention Coordination Office in order to contribute to raising children’s awareness.
The program was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Meryem Çamur Demir, Head of the Science Communication Office Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nergiz Aydoğdu, Kırklareli Directorate of National Education Branch Manager Osman Akyıldız, our academic staff, Kırklareli Imam Hatip Secondary School Vice Principal Nurullah Güleç, teachers, and students.
Within the scope of the event, a seminar was delivered by Research Assistant Buket Tan Yavuz for secondary school students. The seminar provided information on topics such as digital addiction, maintaining balance in technology use, developing healthy habits in digital environments, and digital life skills.
Additionally, a coloring activity for children was organized with the participation of our university students. The activity was carried out by our University’s Green Crescent Student Club, bringing students together in both an enjoyable and educational environment.
The event concluded after activities aimed at raising awareness about conscious use of the digital world among children and fostering early awareness in the fight against addiction.
